International Business News – According to the official report of the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in the first half of 2022, Cambodian rice was sold to 51 countries, with an export volume of 327,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%, and an export value of US$279 million.
China is still a huge market for Cambodian rice, with an export volume of 168,280 tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%; rice exports to the European market reached 986.24 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 47%. In addition, 1.73 million tons of rice were exported to Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%, with an export value of US$336 million.
In 2021, Cambodia exported 6,170.69 million tons of rice to the international market, a year-on-year decrease of 10.67%.
