ASEAN is China’s largest trading partner in the first seven months of 2022

International Business News  –  According to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs on August 7, in the first seven months of this year, my country’s total import and export value was 23.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, exports were 13.37 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.7%; imports were 10.23 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.3%; trade surplus was 3.14 trillion yuan, an increase of 62.1%.

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the import volume and price of iron ore fell, and the import volume of crude oil, coal, natural gas and soybeans decreased in price. In the first seven months, my country imported 627 million tons of iron ore, down 3.4%, and the average import price was 835.1 yuan per ton, down 27.8%. During the same period, imported crude oil was 290 million tons, down 4%, the average import price was 4736.1 yuan per ton, up 58.3%; coal was 139 million tons, down 18.2%, and the average import price was 1037.9 yuan per ton, up 93.2%; natural gas was 62.209 million tons, up 93.2%. The average import price was 3,787.6 yuan per ton, up 63.1%; soybeans were 54.167 million tons, down 5.9%, and the average import price was 4,287.5 yuan per ton, up 25.5%.

The data also showed that the import and export of general trade increased and its proportion increased. In the first seven months, my country’s general trade import and export reached 15.17 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.5%, accounting for 64.3% of China’s total foreign trade value, an increase of 2.3 percentage points over the same period last year.

In addition, imports and exports to major trading partners such as ASEAN, the European Union, the United States and South Korea increased. In the first seven months, ASEAN was my country’s largest trading partner. The total trade value between my country and ASEAN was 3.53 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.2%, accounting for 15% of my country’s total foreign trade value.

During the same period, my country’s total imports and exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” reached 7.55 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.8%. Among them, exports were 4.27 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.8%; imports were 3.28 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.8%.
